Please ensure your QuickTime movies can run properly before submitting your work - Test on a college machine (especially those working at home on a PC).

Please follow all naming and labelling conventions as listed on the right. Do NOT submit .AVI movies. They will be immediately rejected. No hand written labels..!!

   Project Submissions : Semester 2 : 2008   
Please read all project submission details carefully and thoroughly and take note of the dates and deadlines on the right.   
    

Level 1 MAYA
All Level 1 students must submit a CDROM as outlined below.

CDROM
A single clearly labelled and packaged CDROM containing 4 folders (Robot_Final, Robot_Development, Robot_Images, Pickup_Putdown) and a text file with the students details (see attached file).

Note : Do NOT change ANY of the formatting listed below. Your details must be listed in full and only QuickTime movies 360 * 270 pixels will be accepted.

CDROM Cover
The CDROM should be packaged in a case with a printed cover. The text should legible and contain the following details (on the inside, outside or both) :

  1. The Project Title : "the name of your robot".
  2. Students Full Name
  3. Students ID
  4. Students Level and Class Code. eg. Level 1 : AA5A
  5. Students Handphone Number (please include international dialling code eg. +65 91234567)
  6. Students Email Addresses (LASALLE email and Personal email)

CDROM Content
4 folders (Robot_Final, Robot_Development, Robot_Images, Pickup_Putdown) and a text file.

  • Robot_Final - A folder containing the following :
    • Maya : MAYA Project Folder containing all your models, textures etc.
    • turntable.mov - A Playbast 360° Turntable animation of your robot design. Duration : 250 frames.  
  • Robot_Development - A folder containing 2 sub-folders.
    • imageboard : A folder containing jpeg images from your imageboard. (Minimum 4)
    • design : A folder containing jpeg images of your character development. (Minimum 6)
  • Robot_Images - A folder containing a minimum of 6 medium resolution jpeg image showing your robot modelling and texturing. Resolution : 640 * 480 pixels. (eg. robot_imaget01.jpg).
  • Pickup_Putdown : A folder containing a single Playbast animation  of the Robotic Arm, picking up an object and placing it down (This animation should demonstrate your ability to rig the arm and your ability to use Constraints to create a simple animation of the arm picking an object up and -placing back down) - 250 frames. (eg. pickup_putdown.mov).
  • Text file - A file named readme.txt containing points 1 - 6 exactly as list above for the CDROM cover

Your are strongly encouraged to design your CDROM cover..!!

Note : All images should be minimum resolution of  640 * 480 pixels.

Submissions : All project submissions are to be made by Thursday 24th April, 2.00pm, in H205. No extensions will be given.


   


Level 3
All Level 3 students must submit an Imageboard, Storyboard and CDROM as outlined below, together with all reference material and sketchbooks.

IMAGE BOARD
An Imageboard - A1/A2, with cover sheet and clearly labelled with the following printed label on the back.
  1. The Project Title (students title for the project)
  2. Synopsis
  3. Students Full Name
  4. Students ID
  5. Students Level and Class Code. eg. Level 3 : BAAA

STORYBOARD BOARD
An Storyboard - A1/A2, with cover sheet and clearly labelled with the following printed label on the back.

  1. The Project Title (students title for the project)
  2. Synopsis
  3. Students Full Name
  4. Students ID
  5. Students Level and Class Code. eg. Level 3 : BAAA

CDROM

    • final_studentid.mov - completed submission, edited with audio. Resolution : 720 * 576 pixels.
  • Images - A folder containing the following 3 sub-folders :
    • [1] Print - minimum of 3 high resolution jpeg images from your final animation. Resolution : 2048 * 1536 pixels. (eg. print01.jpg).
    • [2] Sketches - minimum of 10 medium resolution jpeg images (landscape or portrait) from your sketchbook. Resolution : 1024 * 768 pixels. (eg. sketch01.jpg).
    • [3] Storyboard - minimum of 10 medium resolution jpeg images (landscape) from your storyboard. Resolution : 1024 * 768 pixels. (eg. sketch01.jpg).
  • Text file - A file named readme.txt containing points 1 - 6 exactly as list above for the CDROM cover.
  • Word file - A file named proposal.doc containing your full project proposal (including your references). The proposal.doc template is available at FridgeMonsters.com

Reference Material and Sketchbooks
Please ensure all reference material and sketchbooks are clearly labelled with your details and the sources where necessary.
